Did you say ex-leper?

If I were to say “I fart in your general direction!” to most of my friends, all well-educated 20-somethings, and many of them fellow pop-culture aficionados, I am not sure they would all understand the reference. Unfortunately they might think I really would be farting in their general direction, instead of quoting a favorite line from a favorite film; Monty Python and the Holy Grail. (But come on, girls don’t fart! Everyone knows that.) I often find myself making Python references, most commonly “And now for something completely different…” from Flying Circus, and on more than one occasion I’ll realize I am whistling the tune to “I’m a Lumberjack!”

I grew up on Monty Python, and although many of my friends under the age of 25 don’t share this affinity and fond recollection for this English troupe of comics, I can thank my older brother for mine. And when I do find someone else who shares a love of all things Python, we share an instant bond.

It's the 40 year anniversary of the Python gang now and IFC has been airing this fantastic docu-series on the comedy legends. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a Python fan.

But of course this:

Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!
