I'd like to volunteer myself for tonsillitis. Also: I'm missing so much NCIS.

Today I had what some might consider the quickest doctor's visit ever. It was at 1:15pm, I arrived exactly on time, was ushered back to an exam room a minute after waiting, and after the doc took a good look at me, listened to my breathing, etc etc, I was out of there at 1:25pm. No joke. It was awesome. Especially because I went into the appointment knowing exactly what I was going to get - antibiotics and some cough syrup with codeine in it. Bingo. (Guess who's sleeping like a champ tonight...)

However, I did take maybe a minute of this incredibly efficient consultation to propose to my doctor that I have my tonsils removed. Recently, everyone's been telling me that the reason I get sick allllllllllll the time is because of my tonsils. The doctor wasn't buying it though, so instead I'd just like to throw it out there: If anyone could give me tonsillitis, that would be AWESOME.

Also, normally when I am sick I just watch marathons of various television shows, in between dozing on and off. Last time (in this case, two weeks ago) I watched all of Torchwood: Children of Earth. Well, right now I am housesitting, and I know my TV at home is just recording hours upon hours upon hours (LITERALLY) of NCIS, my new TV addiction. And man I would kill to just be in front of that TV watching hours upon hours upon hours of NCIS, but oh well. I guess I'll have to deal, what with a beautiful house to myself...

Actually, I'd like to take suggestions or recommendations for a new TV show to watch... last weekend a few Twitter followers were excited I was picking up NCIS, and some others recommended I watch Supernatural (I'm still not convinced, by the way... I am very wary of this show for some reason)... So anyway, if you were sick and pretty much had an entire weekend to do absolutely nothing but recover and watch TV, what would you watch and why? Leave me tips in the comments!

I suggest Alias, you can't go wrong with spy drama mixed with good ole fashioned romantic tension. Not to mention Victor Garber is brilliant. And I also think you should get over your Supernatural bias (though I do understand, I have shows like that too). It's hard to go wrong with hot boys fighting off zombies, vampires and whatnot. Oh yeah and the hot boys can act too.

Belle you're making a good case for Supernatural, I will give you that. I realize I don't even know what the show is about!

As for Alias, that is a show I have watched and loved, although I am long overdue to watch again... at the moment, however I'm looking for something new... thanks for the comments!

Did you watch 'Dollhouse'? Only two seasons. S1 start on ep 6 [make sure you watch the "unaired" ep 13 Epitaph 1], then head on to S2.

Both seasons are only 13 episodes, so it is a quick watch with some surprisingly good mythology & guest stars.

Hmm I did watch the first season of Dollhouse but gave up about two episodes into Season Two... that's a good one to reconsider, however...

So, I'm curious, are you dropping NCIS or just looking for something else so that you can take a break from the loooong NCIS marathon (I know, it took me 8 months, lol)?

I don't watch a lot of shows myself, therefore sorry for the lack of recommendation for you!

Get well soon!

Fay, not dropping NCIS, just looking for something else. The good thing about NCIS is that it is ALWAYS on USA, so I am not worried about watching it, or watching in order... but I am looking for something else to marathon.

Have you watched Breaking Bad? Guaranteed to make you say "my life could be so much worse." If you want something more upbeat, Wonderfalls or Pushing Daisies are whimsical fun.

I have not watched Breaking Bad and one of my roommates recently brought home the first season. I'm going to push that to the top of my list. And I'm ashamed to say I know little to nothing about Wonderfalls...

If you haven't watched Alias - which would be odd - I suggest all 5 seasons. Season 1 is fantabulistikiss.

A friend and I marathoned 13 episodes of Glee during the winter storm of 2009/10 in London a few months ago. Now totally hooked on it.

If not... I would suggest: DAMAGES. Probably one of the best shows on tv after Bones (fan inside me takes over). It's absolutely superb; great writing, acting, directing... you name it.
